Paediatric Trusted Assessor

Our paediatric Trusted Assessor has been designed for those who support and assess our younger generation. On completion those attending will receive a CPD accredited Paediatric Trusted Assessor certificate along with an OCN Trusted Assessor at level 4 qualification. 

The course is completed over 1-3 months and covers:

  • Legislation relating to Paediatric Trusted Assessor​ 
  • The Trusted Assessor model 
  • The spine​  
  • Risk Assessment
  • Correct methods in assisting children to move 
  • A range of correct techniques  
  • Enable the trusted assessor to identify a need for a minor or major adaptation​​  
  • Assessing and measuring for minor and major adaptations​​  
  • How to apply for a ‘Disability Funding Grant’​​  
  • To learn and demonstrate how to measure for a range of equipment to include raisers, stair rails, bed levers, ramp, level access showers and stair lifts

Anyone enrolling will get one to one support from an assessor throughout. Starting with an induction onto the course. Learners will then undertake 8 e learning modules before attending two days in a classroom, where they will learn various moving and positioning techniques as well as how to assess measure and prescribe for equipment. Following these two days learners will complete a set of questions to achieve the qualification in full.

Cost: £721 (inc. VAT) per person, £7,200 (inc. VAT) Maximum 12 people per course.

Duration: Between one to three months.

Delivery method: Blended (online e-learning, followed by two face-to-face practical days).
